Chai: Tea for 2 is a two player dice worker placement games published by Steeped Games. We had the chance to work on the rulebook, design the kickstarter page with Dan, and created the 3D modelling and animated GIFs used in the campaign.

Our first step is always to create a 3D model of the prototype in Blender. The 3D model is an important backbone for both the crowdfunding page we create, as well as the rulebook. For crowdfunding, we can provide potential backers a realistic idea of what the game will look like once produced, and easily build gameplay GIFs for use in the page. For the rulebook, we use the 3D model to create the component list, setup diagrams, and gameplay examples.
When crowdfunding a game, one of the challenges is figuring out how to easily and quickly give people an idea of how your game plays without getting bogged down in a wall of text. Using the 3D model of your game, we can create animated photorealistic GIFs of the different aspects of gameplay.
